Probably Turkey Oaks, European Origin, Species: Quercus cerris
These trees were identified by Dr. Richard Wilkens on October 20, 2008 as a Turkey Oaks, native to Europe.
These trees are located on either side of the walkway that leads from the parking lot to the Racanelli Center. Like the other Vanderbilt era trees on the campus, it is possible that they were moved here when they were already mature or they were planted, either in 1878 or circa 1900.
