Yes, before she died in the early 60′s, my Aunt Bee McManus had a one-man show in NY and sold paintings to Jackie Kennedy, Ethel Kennedy and Mrs. Cyrus McCormick, among others. She was able to attend one day only and died later that month---January, I think. It was great for her but sad for the family as so much of her work was sold. She was the “most unforgettable person” I have ever known, not only as an artist, but also as a creative, original human being. She had an infectious laugh and good sense of humor, original fashion and decorating sense, good cook. Hope this helps.
