The garden is an integral part of the second Idle Hour Mansion. It was designed by Richard Howland Hunt in 1901 and was restored in June 2000.

Courtyard Garden Plaque
The garden is an exterior room of the mansion, bounded on one side by the Ballroom Loggia, on another side by the Main Mansion Hallway, and on the other two sides by the Cloistered Walkways. It is Italian in design and formal in its nature.

In the middle of the Garden is a carrerra marble Fountain which is original to the estate. It was restored in 2003.
