Citing Your Resources
Doing ethical research means citing sources. It is critical to credit writers for their work and their contributions to your research. To not do so is unethical and leads to plagiarism - unintentionally or not. Here are some sources to help you cite properly and to avoid the problem of plagiarism.

Company and Industry Information
Business and Company Resource Center Use the company search section to get company profiles, histories, some rankings information and industry information.
Lexis Nexis Use their Company Info section to search public and private company names. Includes overviews, competitors, brands, financials, and news.
Hoovers Search for company overviews, competitive landscape, brands and additional information. More material available on public companies than private.
S&P Industry Surveys Search their Companies section for in-depth financial information but be sure to check the corresponding Industry Survey that tells you more about what’s happening in that company’s industry and current trends.
