To search for biographical information on an educator or philosopher, use the Catalog and search by subject. Be sure to search last name first when you are looking for a person. For example, “Freire, Paulo.”
Doing ethical research means citing sources. It is critical to credit writers for their work and their contributions to your research. To not do so is unethical and leads to plagiarism - unintentionally or not. Here are some sources to help you cite properly and to avoid the problem of plagiarism.

This book provides a good overview of the philosophy of education from several major thinkers, including Socrates, Erasmus, Locke, Rousseau, Froebel, Dewey, and more.

Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy
Maintained and written by academics, this site includes articles on specific philosophers, schools of thought and concepts. Also included is a timeline of philosophical thinkers throughout history.
