Citing Your Resources

Doing ethical research means citing sources. It is critical to credit writers for their work and their contributions to your research. To not do so is unethical and leads to plagiarism - unintentionally or not. Here are some sources to help you cite properly and to avoid the problem of plagiarism.

  • Buros Institute of Mental Measurements
    Invaluable tool for tests and testing. This site offers basic information about the test found in the various MMY and has grouped them in various ways for easy searching. There are also links from this page to articles and non-Buros databases.


  • CRESST
    This site is maintained by the National Center for Research on Evaluation, Standards, and Student Testing (CRESST). Part of UCLA, the center is a pioneer in developing scientifically based evaluation and testing techniques.


  • Educational Testing Service
    Educational Testing Service (ETS) provides educational assessment products and services worldwide. Their website includes a nationwide directory of tests and testing programs as well as career information and news articles related to testing issues.


  • McGraw-Hill
    McGraw-Hill’s education division focuses on student assessment and reporting. This website provides state-specific links for educators as well as links to tools for students and parents.
