Major: Sport Management
Your Sport Management degree will prepare you for the challenges and opportunities you will encounter as a professional in the sport and leisure industry. The major builds upon required introductory business courses and includes both theory and practical application. Courses included in the curriculum are Foundations of Sport Management, Sport and Society, Sport Leadership, Sport Management, Sport Marketing and Fundraising, Sport Finance, Event and Facility Management, Public Relations, Promotions and Sports Information, and Sport Law.

The Long Island and Metropolitan New York City areas provide numerous high quality internship opportunities in a wide variety of industry segments. Students can pursue the required internship in professional sports, intercollegiate athletics, health and fitness, sporting goods/retail, arena operations (Madison Square Garden and Nassau Coliseum), sport broadcast media, print media, and numerous recreation markets such as golf, tennis, boating, and even the ski industry.
