Major: Aeronautics
For more than thirty years, Dowling has successfully prepared individuals for positions as career pilots and aviation professionals. To ensure Dowling's position as a leader in aviation education and to prepare our students for the next generation of growth and technological innovation, the School of Aviation is committed to the ongoing enhancement of our program.

Resources include the integration of multi-media classroom presentations, on-site weather radar, a state-of-the-art air traffic control (ATC) lab, realistic flight training devices, and a modern fleet of aircraft equipped with IFR Global Position Systems (GPS), color moving map displays, and traffic information systems (TIS). In addition, qualifying students have the opportunity to expand and apply their academic knowledge through aviation internships.

As an aeronautics major, you will receive a liberal arts education leading to a Bachelor of Science degree. You will be prepared for future research and study in management, engineering, mathematics, or education or for entry into business aviation, general aviation, airlines, airports, military aviation, and other areas in the spectrum of air transportation, aviation, and aerospace.

Career Outcomes: For Aeronautics Majors
Your Dowling aeronautics degree prepares you for entry-level through management positions in a wide range of aviation and aerospace careers; including fixed base operator manager, customer service manager, air freight/cargo supervisor, passenger service manager, manager of flight service stations, security specialist, air traffic controller, and others.
