Dowling College is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The Professional Pilot degree program is certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) under FAR Part 141.

The College is an active member of the Council on Aviation Accreditation (CAA), the University Aviation Association (UAA), the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), the National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA), and Women in Aviation International (WAI).
