"Easter Island: Scientific Exploration into the World's Environmental Problems in Microcosm", co-edited by John T. Tanacredi, Professor of Earth and Marine Sciences, was recently published.

The book presents the research results from three years of interdisciplinary expeditions to Easter Island. Issues explored include the effects of human population growth and climate changes on the island's fragile ecosystem. The scientific team researched the paleontology, archeology, climatology, and geophysics of the island.
