Westhampton Resident Named Head Tennis Coach At Dowling

Former Collegiate Star Takes Helm Of Leading Division II Program

Marcus Donahue, a resident of Westhampton, has been appointed head coach of the Dowling College men's tennis program for the 2004 season.

Donahue, a native of Vernon, CT, and a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University, revived the Southampton College program during his past two seasons as coach. It was at New Haven College where Donahue was the doubles player of the year in the NECC division, as well as the number-one singles and doubles player on his team. He was certified professional by the US Tennis Pro Association (USTPA) and played in the US Tennis Association. He now owns and manages a tennis and golf shop in Westhampton.

Last season the Dowling College Golden Lions captured the NYCAC Team Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
