Dowling College Board of Trustees Elects Officers

Racanelli, Bonagura, Weidhorn Re-elected

At its most recent meeting on June 15, the Dowling College Board of Trustees re-elected John Racanelli Chairman, David G. Bonagura Vice Chairman, and Drew Weidhorn Secretary.

Racanelli, a resident of Oyster Bay Cove and a partner in the law firm of Farrell Fritz, P.C. (Uniondale, Melville and Bridgehampton), has been actively involved in higher education since first elected to the Board of Trustees of Dowling College in 1981.

Along with his leadership role at Dowling College, Racanelli's community involvement includes his previous service as Director of the Long Island Council on Alcoholism, as well as Director and Vice Chairman of the YMCA of Long Island.

Racanelli is currently a Board Member of the Long Island Association (LIA) and was formerly Chairman of the Board. Previously, he has served as Director of the Long Island Builder's Institute, the Association for a Better Long Island, and the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce, which he formerly chaired.

Racanelli, Bonagura, Managing Partner, Ernst & Young LLP, and Drew Weidhorn, President and Chief Executive Officer of Package All Corporation, will each serve one-year terms.

Also during the meeting, Robert J. Gaffney, a partner in the law firm of Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein, P.C., and former three-term Suffolk County Executive, was elected a Trustee of Dowling College.
