Dowling College Reaches Agreement With Adjunct Faculty

Initial Labor Agreement For More Than 300 Faculty Spans Three Years

Dowling College and the Association of Dowling Adjuncts, an organization representing more than 300 part-time instructors, signed a three-year contract on April 23. The Association of Dowling Adjuncts was formed in September, 2003. This is its first contract with Dowling College, which also employs 130 full-time faculty.

"This is a historic moment for Dowling College and its adjunct faculty," said Russell David, president of the Association of Dowling Adjuncts. "We have a contract that guarantees the rights and salary benefits of our members."

Dr. Richard I. Resch, Provost of Dowling College, said, "We are pleased to have concluded negotiations on a contract that is mutually beneficial to the College and the Association. We have an excellent core of adjunct faculty who are important to the success of our institution."
