Dowling College Blood Drives Scheduled At Oakdale & Brookhaven

Donors Urgently Needed To Meet Dire Need For Blood On Long Island

Long Island Blood Services will conduct a blood drive in the Fortunoff Hall Ballroom at Dowling College's Rudolph Campus in Oakdale from 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14. A blood drive will also be held at the College's Brookhaven Campus in Shirley (Room B201) the same day from 3 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

With a dire need for blood on Long Island, the public is encouraged to donate alongside Dowling students, faculty and staff. With new FDA regulations preventing importation of blood from Europe, Long Island Blood Services must make up a 25% decrease in its supply. Please give blood and bring a friend to campus to do the same.

In order to donate blood, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Bring valid ID and know your social security number
  • Minimum weight 110 lbs.
  • Ages: 17-76
  • Eat well prior to giving blood (low fat foods and drink fluids)
  • No tattoos for past 12 months
Please fill out the Blood Drive Registration Form.

For medical concerns regarding donations, please call 1-800-688-0900.
