Dowling College's 2nd Public Opinion Poll Shows McCain Now in the
Lead on Long Island
John McCain has taken the lead when it comes to Long Island's
candidate choice in the upcoming Presidential election. The new Dowling
College Polling Institute conducted a second poll asking 600 random
respondents 16 questions pertaining to their choice of candidate in the
upcoming presidential election. The random sample of households was
generated by taking the Counties of Nassau and Suffolk and selecting
likely presidential year voters (approximately 74% of the registered
voters, which based on past Presidential Year Voting Histories for the
two counties is the projected turnout for this year) and randomizing the
entire universe. Below is a sampling of questions asked and results
recorded.
