Spring into Spring with Dowling College's Musical Performances
Dowling College's Department of Music presents a series of musical
ensemble concerts this Spring featuring Long Island artists. All
performances will take place at Dowling College's Rudolph Campus in
Oakdale and are free and open to the public. Please call 631-244-3351
prior to the performance to confirm date and time. All performances will
take place in the Fortunoff Hall Ballroom, except where noted.
Long Island String Quartet Concert
The Long Island String Quartet will feature From My Life by Bedrich
Smetana and Opus 54 #3 by Joseph Haydn on May 3, 2008 at 3:00 p.m.
Dowling College Jazz Ensemble
The Dowling College Jazz Ensemble, conducted by Rich Cruz, will feature
Take the A Train by Duke Ellington & The Queen Bee by Count Basie on May
5, 2008 at 8:00 p.m.
Dowling College Chorus
The Dowling College Chorus, conducted by Ronald Armanini, will feature
Carmina Burana by Carl Orff & The Kyrie from Mass #4 by Johann Sebastian
Bach on May 6, 2008 at 8:00 p.m.
Dowling College Symphony Orchestra
The Dowling College Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Reynard Burns,
will feature Fifth Symphony (Finale) by Peter Tchaikovsky & The Academic
Festival Overture by Johannes Brahms on May 12, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.
Dowling College World Music Ensemble
The Dowling College World Music Ensemble, directed by David Racanelli,
will feature No Woman No Cry' by Bob Marley & Bella by Jack Licitra on
May 13, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center.
Dowling College Chamber Ensemble
The Dowling College Chamber Ensemble, conducted by Paul Piekut, will
feature Georgia on my Mind by Hoagy Carmichael & The Triumphal March
from Aida by Giuseppe Verdi on May 14, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.
