Dowling College Awarded MVP in Education by Long Island Magazine

An Honor Bestowed Upon the Region's Best of the Best

In recognition of corporate growth, prosperity and community service to Long Island, Dowling College was proud to accept the award of Business MVP in Education for the 2007 year by Long Island Magazine. In an article featured in Long Island Magazine, the Rudolph Campus in Oakdale is described as arguably the most beautiful campus on Long Island. Dowling College is recognized as a local school with a primary ambition to serve students from Long Island as best it can.

Dowling College is commended for achieving the goal of serving its students in addition to being a valuable resource to the region. The steps taken to reach this goal include the creation of the Long Island Economic and Social Policy Institute, which is one of the many visions of President Robert Gaffney that has taken shape in the past year. President Gaffney firmly believes that Dowling College can and must be "relevant." The ultimate goal of Dowling College and its administration is to produce the leaders of tomorrow.

One of the problems facing Long Island today is the brain drain due to the lack of affordable housing. Dowling College hopes to be an attractive place for young people who are staying on Long Island and provide them with the necessary tools to become part of the workforce. Dowling College strives to be fully and completely involved in social and economic issues while creating more student-centric services to provide the best collegiate experience possible.
