Register for one of Dowling College's New Summer Programs
OAKDALE, NY – The Dowling Institute is offering two new programs this summer including one for children and one for adults. The Children's Enrichment program will be offering an array of children's programs from July 9 – August 16, 2007. The Dowling Literacy Project, running from July 10 – July 11, 2007, is geared towards teachers and features renowned literacy expert Dr. Katie Wood Ray.
The Children's Enrichment program will ensure any child to have a fun summer, while meeting new friends and having a good learning experience. Since Dowling prides themselves in providing personal attention to all students, enrollment in these programs is limited. To guarantee a place your child, please register early. The School of Education created the mission of the Dowling Literacy Project to create a community of outstanding teacher-scholars, researchers and leaders who come together for two days in the summer. This opportunity allows participants to share their teaching experiences, explore optimum practices, develop classroom-based research projects, and highlight current in the teaching of reading and writing. The Literacy Project includes two highlight workshop days with renowned literacy experts Dr. Katie Wood Ray and Karen Ernst. Dowling previously hosted a successful full-day writing workshop with Dr. Katie Wood Ray that was well attended by teachers and administrators.
