Come to the Music at Dowling's Spring Musical Performances Featuring Long Island Artists

OAKDALE, NY – Spring into Spring and enjoy Dowling College's musical ensemble concerts featuring Long Island Artists. All performances will take place at Dowling's Rudolph Campus in Oakdale and are free and open to the public. Please call 631-244-3351 prior to the performance to confirm date and time. This event is sponsored by the Dowling College Department of Music.

World Music Ensemble
The World Music Ensemble, with musical director David Racanelli, will feature works by Sting (Fragile) and Matt Zebrowski (Way Down) on April 24, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center.

Chamber Ensemble
The Chamber Ensemble, conducted by Paul Piekut, will feature works by Scott Joplin (Maple Leaf Rag) and Giuseppe Verdi (Grand March from Aida) on May 2, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the Fortunoff Hall Ballroom.

Symphony Orchestra
The Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Reynard Burns, will feature works by John Williams (Cowboy Overture) and Gioacchino Rossini (Overture to the Barber of Seville) on May 3, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the Fortunoff Hall Ballroom.

Jazz Ensemble
The Jazz Ensemble, conducted by Rich Cruz, will feature West Side Story Suite (made famous by Buddy Rich Big Band) and Missing Tooth (dedicated to Frank Mantooth) on May 7, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. at the Fortunoff Hall Ballroom.

Chorus
The Dowling College Chorus, directed by Ronald Armanini, will feature works by John Rutter (Requiem) and Carlos Chavez (La Paloma Azul) on May 8, 2007 at 8:15 p.m. at the Fortunoff Hall Ballroom.
