Enjoy an Evening of Eclectic Acoustics
Revitalize your spirits with the sounds of the Caribbean from Orchestre Murungu

OAKDALE, NY - The Dowling College Music Department invites you to recharge your soul with the collective energy of the Orchestre Murungu on Saturday, March 10, 2007 from 8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Dowling College's historic Rudolph Campus in Oakdale.

The Orchestre Murungu was born from the love of music and the desire to communicate with others through sound and motion. They represent the collective artistry of musicians from around the globe. This group's music aims directly at relating the experience of a fun filled night in a township outside Harare, Zimbabwe or in the hinterland of Accra, Ghana. These all-night events involve dancing and music while enjoying the company of others.

This performance is a part of an ongoing series of free world music concerts offered by the college through the music department and organized by the department chair. Previously, the music department presented a performance by the West African musicians, Super Mande.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact David Racanelli, Chair of Music Department, or Ronald Armanini, Coordinator of Musical Concerts, at 631-244-3351.
