Coram Resident Named Dowling College Director of Communications

Coram resident Eric Kopp has been named Director of Communications at Dowling College. Mr. Kopp will be responsible for the management of internal and external communications in support of the Dowling College vision. He will works closely with administration, faculty, staff and other members of the College community to ensure a cohesive and effective communications program. Mr. Kopp will represent Dowling College with community, government, and other groups and serve as a communications liaison for external and internal facets.

Prior to his career in higher education, Mr. Kopp's most recent experience includes working as Assistant to the Chief of Staff at Long Island Power Authority, Deputy Nassau County Executive for Public Safety, and Chief Deputy Suffolk County Executive. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Long Island University. Mr. Kopp has also been involved with the Hope Lutheran Church, the Suffolk County Police Athletic League, and Terryville-Port Jefferson Youth Sports.

Dowling College President Robert Gaffney said that Kopp's "ability to interact with the government and private sector" make him a "real find" for the college. Michael DeLuise, Vice President for Development/External Affairs feels that "we are extremely pleased to have someone of Eric's stature joining our team".
