Dowling Announces Launch of Bachelor of Arts Degree Program in Early Childhood Education
Students wishing to pursue a career teaching children from birth until grade two may now enroll in Dowling College's new Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education program, which was recently approved by The New York State Education Department.
"With the enormous increase in job opportunities on Long Island in the day care and pre-school areas, this program is a perfect extension of our current education degree programs," explained Dr. Clyde Payne, Dean of Dowling's School of Education. "The courses in this program are informative and valuable for all educators, as they delve into the development of the minds of infants and toddlers, and explore the methods of teaching youngsters at the earliest stages of life."
This new program complements Dowling's established undergraduate degrees in Childhood Education, Middle Childhood Education, Adolescence Education, Special Education, Visual Arts Education, and Theater Arts Education. Dowling also offers graduate programs in Adolescence Education, Childhood Education, Early Childhood Education, Literacy Education, and Special Education. To prepare students to lead in the demanding educational and social organizations of the 21st century, Dowling offers the Doctor of Education Degree (Ed.D.) in Educational Administration.
Those interested in learning more about Dowling's education programs are encouraged to attend upcoming information sessions at the College's campuses, details of which may be found at www.dowling.edu.
