Jensen Named DII Player Of The Year

Graduate student, Morten Jensen (Tananger, Norway) has been awarded the 2006 Division II Player of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. This is just one of a myriad of awards the All-American forward has won over his four year career at Dowling.

The senior captain has led his team to three final fours and netted the lone goal in this year's National Championship game to bring home Dowling's first national title. He finished the season with 24 goals, including 10 game winning tallies, and 10 assists for a total of 58 points to rank 8th in the nation in points per game.

Morten has recently been named to the NSCAA/Adidas NCAA Men's Division II First-Team All-American, and the Daktronics Northeast Player of Year. He was awarded the 2006 ECC Player of the Year, NSCAA Northeast All-Region Team, NCAA Most Outstanding Offensive Player, and received ECC Offensive Player of the Week two times.

Jensen strives for the top, both on and off the field. He is a two time ESPN/CoSIDA Academic All-American and holds one of the highest GPAs on the team with a 3.76. He is currently finishing his masters in Business Administration.
