Famed Musicians Collaborate with Dowling Chorus for Winter Concert

The Dowling College Chorus welcomes Long Island native Leslie McBride to sing with them at their concert on Tuesday, December 12 at 8:15 p.m. in the Fortunoff Hall Ballroom on Dowling's historic Rudolph Campus in Oakdale. This captivating performance is free and open to the public.

Leslie McBride is an accomplished soloist and will sing Et incarnates-est from Mozart's Grand Mass in C Minor and Ave Maria by Schubert. The Dowling Chorus and its director Ronald Armanini are also honored to perform the premier of Adon Olam, a song that was dedicated to them by recognized composer Kenneth Lampl.

Leslie McBride has been a featured soloist with many concert groups throughout Long Island, performing various works. Leslie has had the honor of singing the National Anthem at the National College Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Dinner in South Bend, Indiana. Ms. McBride was a member of the regular chorus of the New York City Opera for six years, appearing in over 50 productions, with supporting roles in several operas including Janacek's The Cunning Little Vixen and Puccini's Madame Butterfly. Ms. McBride holds a B.A. degree from Binghamton University and a Master's degree in vocal performance from The Mannes College of Music in New York City. She resides in Manorville, where she enjoys raising her two children and teaching voice privately.

Kenneth Lampl first became internationally recognized when he won the Prix Ravel award in composition in France. Many awards soon followed and with over twenty symphonic compositions to date, his music has been performed by many prestigious musical organizations. Lampl is also involved in the world of film scoring and has had the opportunity to study with John Williams. As a composer of film music, Lampl's credits include music for multiple Pokemon movies, the Academy award-winning short film Six Miles of Eight Feet, and the Emmy-winning Empty. One of his most recent projects includes the theatrical trailer music for the film The Sentinel, starring Michael Douglas and Keifer Sutherland.
