Dowling College Awards Students NSF Computer Science & Mathematics Scholarship

Ten Dowling students were each awarded $3,125 through the National Science Foundation (NSF) Computer Science and Mathematics Scholarship (CSMS) program at Dowling College. The funds were made available by a four-year $292,000 grant awarded to Dowling in August of 2004. Dowling College enhances this award with additional individual need-based scholarships. The CSMS Scholarship is funded through monies collected by the federal government from American companies. NSF uses this money to support training of the American workforce with skills in Computer Science, Engineering and Mathematics that satisfy the needs of American industries. The recipients of this prestigious award include Angelina Goldstein of Levittown, Dawn Reuter of Medford, Elvis Valerio of the Bronx, Eric Manzi of Oakdale, Erika Marie Coiro of Hauppauge, Janelle Cook of Patchogue, Katia Turner of Shirley, Lauren Abrams of Holbrook, Natasha Johnson of Brooklyn, and Vanessa Porcelli of Shirley.
