Robert H. Buescher and Janet C. Buescher to Receive Honorary Degrees at Dowling College Commencement

| Entrepreneur, financial analyst, and engineer Robert H. Buescher and his wife Janet C. Buescher, Dowling Class of 1973 and director of the Robert H. and Janet C. Buescher Foundation, will each receive the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Humane Letters at Dowling College's 44th Commencement ceremony.

Entrepreneur, financial analyst, and engineer Robert H. Buescher and his wife Janet C. Buescher, Dowling Class of 1973 and director of the Robert H. and Janet C. Buescher Foundation, will each receive the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Humane Letters at Dowling College's 44th Commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 21, 2006 at the Nassau Veteran's Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, NY. The Bueschers are residents of Massapequa, NY.
Mr. Buescher, a College of Engineering graduate of the University of Missouri, is commended for his success in developing broad skills across varied fields of engineering, venture capitalism, and financial services. A licensed Professional Engineer and Chartered Financial Analyst, Mr. Buescher earned the University of Missouri Honor Award for Distinguished Service in Engineering. He is Partner of Bessemer Venture Partners, a premier national firm that successfully provided financing to numerous small businesses, spawning scores of successful national companies. Notable past career positions include Project Manager at General Electric's Space and Electronics Division, Director of Engineering for Litton Industries' Maryland Division, and General Manager of Fairchild Industries' Electronic Division.
Mrs. Buescher is Director of the Robert H. and Janet C. Buescher Foundation, which benefits a host of institutions including Dowling College, the University of Missouri, WLIW (Channel 21), Winthrop-University Hospital, and The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia. Mrs. Buescher has held many volunteer positions including Master Gardener with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Nassau County; and as Christian Growth Committee member, Religion Instructor, and Senior Choir member at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. While earning her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Business Management, Mrs. Buescher served as Student Representative to the Dowling College Board of Trustees.
Mr. Buescher has also held many volunteer positions, including Treasurer of the Metropolitan New York Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Member of the Foundation Board of The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia, Co-Chair of the College of Engineering, University of Missouri Capital Funds Campaign, Member of the Senior Choir of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and past position as Chairman of the Nassau Symphony (Symphony of Long Island).
