Spring Into Spring With Free Music Concert Series at Dowling College - Season Lineup Includes Performance By LI String Quartet
Dowling College's musical ensembles will perform music concerts during early May. All performances will take place in the Fortunoff Hall Ballroom on Dowling's Rudolph Campus in Oakdale and are free and open to the public, including a special performance by the Long Island String Quartet. Please call 631-244-3351 prior to the performance to confirm date and time.
Jazz Ensemble
The Dowling College Jazz Ensemble, conducted by Richie Cruz, will perform Porter's Begin the Beguin, Tomaro's Dancing Eyes, Thorne's Stephanie's Song and Barduhn's Bill Bailey on May 1 at 8 p.m.
Chorus Concert
The Dowling College Choir, conducted by Ronald Armanini, will perform Vivaldi's Gloria, Verdi's Nabucco, Rossi's Haleluya, Haleli Nafshi and Friedman's Mizmor Shir L'Yom Hashabbat on May 9 at 8:15 p.m.
Wind & Chamber Ensemble
The Dowling College Wind & Chamber Ensemble, conducted by Reynard Burns, will perform Dvorak's Slavonic Dance No.1, Mozart's The Magic Flute, and Offenbach's Ballet Parisien on May 11 at 7 p.m.
Symphony Orchestra Concert
The Dowling College Symphony Orchestra, directed by Charles Weinsoff, will perform Beethoven's Symphony No.7, Respighi's Ancient Airs and Dances, and Strauss's Roses from the South, on May 14 at 3 p.m.
* As part of a two-year partnership with Dowling, The Long Island String Quartet will perform on May 14 at 8 p.m. This performance is made possible by a grant from the Office of Cultural Affairs of Suffolk County and with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts.
