Dowling College Drama Club to Perform 'Godspell'

The Dowling College Drama Club has set the stage for "Godspell," with performances taking place March 30 - April 2, 2006.
The Dowling College Drama Club and Department will present "Godspell" from March 30 - April 2, 2006. In this modern-day rock musical, which is loosely based on the Gospel of St. Matthew, a group of young people form a community while following Jesus, enacting parables through song, dance and storytelling. This event is open to the public. A suggested donation of $10 is requested (Dowling students with a current Dowling identification card may attend free of charge).

"Godspell" became one of the longest-running off-Broadway musicals before moving to Broadway in June 1976, where it ended its run in September 1977 after an additional 527 performances, for a total of more than 2,600.

Performances will take place in the Black Box Loft Theatre at the Performing Arts Center on the historic Rudolph Campus in Oakdale on Thursday, March 30 and Friday, March 31 at 8 p.m., on Saturday, April 1 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sunday, April 2 at 2 p.m.

Ticket reservations can be obtained by calling 631-244-3347.
