Dowling College Appoints Frank X. Cotroneo Assistant Professor, School of Aviation

Frank X. Cotroneo, a resident of Medford, has been named Assistant Professor for Dowling College's School of Aviation.

Prior to this appointment, Frank served as Director of Aviation overseeing all flight operations and the maintenance of the quality and standards established for the School of Aviation. For seven years he has been an adjunct professor at Dowling and taught courses in air carrier navigation and the elements of instrument flight, as well as advanced courses in international and turbine operations.

Frank is the founder of CorporateAir Services Inc., an aviation service provider and consulting company with a presence at all major airports throughout the Tri-state Area. His aviation career began as a flight instructor at Zahn's Airport, Amityville, NY. He graduated from the Army's Officer Flight School and was active for ten years in the U.S. Army Reserve as a flight commander of the 42nd Infantry Brigade.

In the corporate aviation sector, he served twenty-one years with AOL Time Warner, operating six large corporate jets throughout the world. He held the position of Chief Pilot to the Chairman when he retired.

Frank holds an Airline Transport Pilot and Flight Instructor certificates in both airplanes and helicopters. He spent twenty-five years as a Designated Pilot Examiner for the FAA with privileges from Private Pilot to Airline Transport Pilot. He has over 16,000 hours of flight experience.

Frank holds an Associate's degree in Applied Science from the College of Aeronautics, a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master's of Business Administration degree from Dowling College. He is a member of the National Business Aviation Association and Helicopter Aviation Association.
