Enjoy the Melodious Sounds of Spring at Dowling College
Free Music Concert Series Open to the Public
Dowling College's musical ensembles are preparing for their spring music concert series with captivating performances scheduled throughout May. All performances will take place in the Fortunoff Hall Ballroom on Dowling's Rudolph Campus in Oakdale and are free and open to the public. Please call 631-244-3351 prior to the performance to confirm date and time.
Symphony Orchestra Concert
The Dowling College Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Charles Weinsoff, will perform on Sunday, May 8 at 4:00 p.m. The performance includes "The Ninth Symphony" by Franz Schubert, "Academic Festival Overture" by Johannes Brahms, and "Roumanian Rhapsody" by Enesco.
Jazz Concert
The Dowling College Jazz Ensemble, conducted by Richie Cruz, will perform on Monday, May 9 at 8:00 p.m. Selections include "Home Jubilation" by Fred Sturm, "Basically Blues" by Phil Wilson, "On Green Dolphin Street" by Les Hooper, "OutBack Blues" by Carl Strommen, and "Spain" by Chick Corea.
Chorus Concert
The Dowling College Choir, conducted by Ronald Armanini, will present a concert on Tuesday, May 10 at 8:15 p.m. The chorus will perform "Elija" by Felix Mendelssohn, and an additional piece celebrating Dowling College's annual theme honoring the contributions of Asian-American culture.
Wind & Chamber Ensemble
The Dowling College Wind & Chamber Ensemble, conducted by Reynard Burns, will perform on Thursday, May 12 at 7:00 p.m.
