'Graph Theory Day Forty Nine' at Dowling College To Stimulate Activity Among Graph Theorists

The Department of Mathematics at Dowling College, in partnership with the Mathematics Section of The New York Academy of Sciences, presents Graph Theory Day Forty Nine, a one-day meeting to stimulate activity among graph theorists.

Taking place on Saturday, May 14 from 10:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at Dowling's Brookhaven Campus in Shirley, the program features an impressive roster of speakers, opportunities to exchange information and network with mathematical professionals, a Graph Theory Notes session and lunch. During the Graph Theory Notes session, written contributions will be considered for inclusion in Graph Theory Notes of New York.

Featured speakers include: Maria Chudnovsky, Department of Mathematics, Princeton University and The Clay Mathematics Institute, who will present "The Structure of Clawfree Graphs;" and Glenn Hurlbert, Department of Mathematical Sciences, Arizona State University, who will present "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Pebbling but Were Afraid to Ask."

Registration must be made in advance. Admission cost is $30, which includes lunch, refreshments and a $5 contribution to the NYAS Graph Theory Fund.
