Best Paper Award

The Northeast Business & Economics Association (NBEA) is proud to sponsor the Best Paper Award in partnership with its annual conference.

Eligibility for Best Paper Award:
  • Completed papers that are received by the conference chair on or before July 1st, 2006 and in accordance with the submission procedures
  • Original papers that are not under consideration for publication elsewhere
  • At least one author has agreed to attend and has paid the conference fee for the 2006 Northeast Business & Economics Association Annual Conference
Best Paper Winner(s) will receive the following:
  • Expedited review for publication consideration in The Journal of Business & Economic Studies (JBES)
  • Letter of congratulations on behalf of the NBEA Board of Directors
  • Notice of congratulations will be published in The Journal of Business & Economic Studies (JBES)
  • Personalized and framed certificate of recognition
  • Public recognition at the Northeast Business & Economics Association (NBEA) Annual Conference to be held in Port Jefferson, NY at Danfords "On the Sound" October 12-14, 2006
Procedure for peer review:
  • Full papers are to be submitted on or before July 1st, 2006 to Dr. Maureen Mackenzie, NBEA2006@dowling.edu.
  • All submissions are to be prepared in Word and are to be submitted electronically. The submission must have two title pages. The first title page must include the title and the following information about each author: name, affiliation; address; office and home phone numbers; e-mail address, and a fax number, if available. For papers with multiple authors, please note the primary address for future correspondence. The second title page must have only the title of the article.
  • Please clearly state in the cover e-mail that your paper should be considered for the BEST PAPER AWARD.
  • All submitted papers will be designated as either a PRACTITIONER-PAPER or a THEORETICAL-PAPER. If the best paper coordinator determines that there are insufficient quality submissions to form two groups of papers, then ALL papers will be considered together and only ONE award will be granted during the conference event.
  • The best paper coordinator will establish a jury of reviewers from multiple disciplines.
  • The winner(s) will be publicly recognized on October 13, 2006 at the NBEA Annual Conference Luncheon
