Hour of Honor for Black History Month a Success

The Student Government Association had a successful month-long celebration of Black History Month, including the Hour of Honor Ceremony. On February 20th, Mr. William Samber was live in person to speak with the Dowling College aviation community. Mr. William Samber, an original Tuskegee Airmen, as well as a strong community leader out of Queens, NY, inspired students with his testimony of overcoming racism while serving as a U.S aviator in World War II. "We are very proud of organizations like Dowling College that are teaching the young students to be prepared for greatness," said Mr Samber. The Tuskegee Airmen were honored live in person by the school's administration and student leadership. Special thanks to Geoff Hass, Yeliz Tuncel and Kelvin King for coordinating this event.
