Recently, Dr. Bill Thierfelder made a research trip to Iceland to study the Norse Sagas and Icelandic Eddas, which date back to the 10th century AD. His journey included stops at many of the majestic locales depicted in these ancient stories. Volcanoes, glaciers, ice caves, lava beaches, massive waterfalls, and geysers in addition to visits to the National Library were highlights of the trek along with the exceptional hospitality of the Icelandic people. Though the trip lasted into early June, temperatures rarely rose out of the 40's; it even snowed one day!
