Dowling recently hosted the LIESP Roundtable for Long Island's Future in, "Economic Benefits of Diversity: Untapping the Potential of Long Island's Black Community." "Race and educational attainment have a clear impact on the Long Island economy," so says Dowling College President Robert J. Gaffney about the findings of a report issued by the LIESP. Theresa Sanders, President and CEO of The Urban League of Long Island and member of the Regional Planning Board, presented the Urban League's job-creating initiative in Central Islip. Lance Clarke, Esq., member of 100 Black Men of Long Island, announced new community support, and discussed the progress in developing 100 Main Street and creating jobs for the center of the Hempstead Village.
