More than $7,000 was raised for the American Cancer Society during the first-ever "Row for Life", an indoor rowing challenge at Dowling College's Oakdale Campus on Sunday, March 5. The event, organized by Dowling College's crew teams, featured several indoor rowing machines where participants logged a combined hundreds of kilometers.

Throughout the event particpants learned proper rowing machine technique from Peter Lee and Anika Selle, coaches for Dowling's team. New York State Assemblywoman Ginny Fields was on hand to welcome participants. The event also featured an outside walking area, a kid's corner, refreshments, and entertainment.
