Recently, The Dowling College Department of History presented an insightful talk by William Doyle, author of Inside the Oval Office: The White House Tapes from FDR to Clinton. The award-winning author and expert on U.S. presidential history, political conventions, and American politics presented excerpts of secret White House recordings and his book. The presentation included information about FDR, Truman, Eisenhower, JFK, LBJ, and Nixon. The author also revealed the 'Top 10 clips', a description of the details and background of each recording system, and a discussion of why and how each President used the recording system.
