In celebration of Black History Month, the Dowling College Student Government Association, the Center for Minority Teacher Development & Training and the PAN Club hosted a special event, featuring historical musical aspects of African American music. The event took place on Thursday, February 16 in the Ballroom of Fortunoff Hall and featured the sounds of the blues, jazz, hip hop, rap, Caribbean, reggae, samba, classical, rhythm and blues, and gospel spirituals.
