Administrators involved with Dowling's Center for Minority Teacher
Development & Training recently hosted several educators and community
leaders from Austin, Texas, who sought insight on the formation and
growth of the CMTDT. Visitors, including Deans from St. Edwards
University and Austin Community College, toured the Brookhaven and
Oakdale Campuses and met with Lizette Washington, Director, Dr. Kevin
Jordan, Chair of the Board, along with Dr. Clyde Payne, Doug Simonton,
Rohan Howell, Yu-Wan Wang, and CMTDT alum and current Longwood S.D.
teacher Jamal Colson. At a luncheon on July 28th in the Study, they also
met with CMTDT partners, including Dr. LaQuita Outlaw, of the Bay Shore
School District, Fadhilika Atiba-Weza, Superintendent of Central Islip
School District, and Eu'Gene Peters of SUNY Farmingdale.
