Dowling College hosted College for a Day for a group of 8th grade students from the Milton L. Olive Middle School. This event is part of Dowling's GEAR UP program which will be following this cohort of students through their high school graduation from the Wyandanch School District with the mission of increasing college attendance. Students went to mini-classes taught by Dowling faculty, lunched in the cafeteria, and experienced a college day without bells and hall passes. Mr. James Crouch, Dean of the Olive Middle School expressed, "I have never seen my students so engaged and wanting to learn."
