Dowling College celebrated its 44th commencement on Sunday, May 21st at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale. Family and friends filled the seats to witness more than 900 graduates receive their bachelor's master's and doctoral degrees. Roger Tilles, New York State Regent for Long Island, delivered the commencement address and received an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree. Also receiving honorary degrees were media executive Felipe Luciano and community leaders Robert Buescher, Janet Buescher, and Joseph Verderber. Valedictorian Kristie Hansen spoke to the audience and the Class of 2006 announced a gift of funds to refurbish the Lion's Den.
