Dowling College Librarians Michael Aloi, Lisa Esposito, Joyce Gotsch, Diane Holliday, and Chris Kretz presented "Displays on a Dime: Quick, Collaborative, and Economical Approaches to Community Outreach" on February 3 at the Suffolk County Cooperative Library Services headquarters in Bellport.

The interactive workshop highlighted Dowling College Library's unique, team approach to building library displays of interest to the campus community. The Dowling team has also devised a clever way to take displays "on the road" to promote the library's collections beyond the building. The 50+ librarians (from Nassau and Suffolk Counties) in attendance had the chance to practice building displays using objects they brought from home as well as fabric, boxes, and "books" supplied by the Dowling College team.
