A Key To Internship Success: Getting Known Around eCampus

Brian Jeran, Assistant Director of Student Services for Career Services, and Barbara Gambarani, Career Services Coordinator, with senior Sara Fingerman.
In securing two exciting internships via Dowling's eCampusRecruiter, senior Sara Fingerman is extolling the virtues of the free online service.

In her junior year, Sara obtained her first internship as a Campus Marketing Representative with The Princeton Review after first viewing the job/internship posting on Dowling's eCampusRecruiter website and meeting a company representative at a Career Services' Part-time Job Fair. That positive work experience led Sara to return to Career Services recently for resume and cover letter assistance. Following advice and recommendations provided her free of cost, Sara returned to www.ecampusrecruiter.com/dowling, posted her new resume, applied online and successfully obtained her second internship in the Public Relations Department at Computer Associates for the Spring 2006 semester.

"Sara took the initiative to utilize the Career Services offered to all our students/alumni - I couldn't be more pleased with her success," says Brian Jeran, Assistant Director of Student Services for Career Services. "She is a shining example of today's proactive student, gaining practical job experience along with college credit. Her internships will complement her qualifications for full-time employment upon graduation."

Looking forward to graduating in May 2006, Sara added "I think Career Services is a very valuable resource. All Dowling students should take advantage of the tools available, as they can benefit from the guidance to help advance their careers!"
