Dowling Graduate Presents At Prestigious Education Conference

Prior to graduating this May from Dowling with her Master's in Early Childhood and Childhood Education, Lynnette Grandner of West Babylon, presented her research at the prestigious American Educational Research Association's Annual 2005 Meeting in Montreal.

Ms. Grandner, under the tutelage of Dr. Linda Catelli, conducted an action research study entitled, "The Development of an Effective Website for Student Teachers of the Belmont Elementary School-Dowling College Partnership Program". Ms. Grandner is also a partnering teacher and a member of the partnership project with Dowling and the North Babylon School District. A number of Dowling Early Childhood and Childhood Education students participated in the study and were members of the partnership for the 2004-5 academic year.

More than 12,000 educators and researchers from 54 countries attended this year's AERA conference. In addition to Ms. Grandner's presentation, Dr. Catelli presented a paper at the same conference in a symposium entitled, "Collaborative Efforts in School Partner Relationships: An Examination of Perspectives to Create Healthy, Sustainable Partnerships".
