Dr. Kevin D. Jordan Named Dean of Academic Support Services

As Dean of Academic Support Services, Dr. Jordan will be in charge of all remediation and retention efforts. He will focus on first-year student success strategies. Kevin, who recently marked 20 years of service to Dowling, is an ordained Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, and holds degrees from Princeton University and Union Theological Seminary in the areas of psychology, practical theology and African American studies. Additionally, he holds a doctorate in Education Administration Leadership and Technology from Dowling College.

Kevin also serves as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Human Development and Learning and College Orientation and teaches college orientation and research methodology. Kevin is Chair of the Advisory Board for the Center for Minority Teacher Training and Development at Dowling as well as a Chairperson of the Suffolk County African American Advisory Board. He serves on the Suffolk County Intergenerational Commission and works closely with the ERASE Racism Organization of Long Island. Kevin is also President and CEO of KDJM, an international ministry that promotes Christian growth and community.
