John P. Gallivan Elected To Dowling College Board Of Trustees
John P. Gallivan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Farmingdale, NY-based Waldner's Business Environments, and a resident of Bay Shore, was elected a Trustee of Dowling College.
Gallivan, who was raised in Baldwin, NY, is a 1970 graduate of the State University of New York at Oneonta. He joined Waldner's in 1984 as Vice President/General Sales Manager, became President in 1991 and CEO in 1999. Waldner's, established in 1939, is an office furniture distributor with annual sales in excess of $90 million and three locations serving the New York metropolitan area.
Prior to his work in the furniture industry, Gallivan was Director of Sales for the Hertz Corporation. Gallivan is an Executive Board member of Facilitilink, a nationwide office furniture-related services provider organization of the top Steelcase dealers in the U.S. Gallivan, his wife, Carol, and daughters, Megan and Kelly, reside in Bay Shore.
