Dowling College is a residential academic community supported by a variety of essential operations which function on a 24/7 basis year-round. Accordingly, the College will close or delay normal administrative and academic operations only in unusual circumstances. In most weather conditions, the College will continue to operate normally.
There are situations, including inclement winter weather, that will necessitate either a delayed-opening or closing of Dowling College.

Closing notifications, due to inclement weather or other emergency, will be posted on the Dowling website (www.Dowling.edu), the emergency phone line (631.244.3001), and a text message alert will be sent via RAVE—the Dowling Emergency Notification System.

The Office of Communications and Public Relations will also post weather-related advisories to the following media (please check websites and/or on-air school closings announcements as available):
