Dowling Community Participating in New York AIDS Walk

On May 18th, over thirty students and alumni will be participating in the annual New York AIDS Walk. Last year, The Dowling College Team raised over $6,000 to help support various tri-state agencies leading the fight against the AIDS pandemic. With the collapse of funding from the Ryan White Care Act to AIDS agencies in New York and Long Island, raising funds for medical assistance and meals programs for persons with HIV/AIDS is more urgent than ever. You are invited to support this year's team by going to www.aidswalk.net/newyork/ and making a donation. Click on "Take Action," then "Sponsor a Walker," and type in the name Bill Thierfelder (who is Captain and organizer) or Jaime Franchi (a Dowling College graduate student and this year's Co-Captain). Your donation will be attributed to the Team's total. Your generosity will be deeply appreciated by the team as well as the nearly 150,000 people living with HIV/AIDS in the New York/Long Island region.
