How do I pickup materials?

Online Web Delivery

Get an article at your desktop or any computer and

  • save it to disk for further study/reading; or
  • access it online for 14 days or 5 viewings, whichever comes first.

To request online delivery:

  • Type a W in the "Pick up location" box in your request.
  • Have Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher installed on your computer.
  • Have Adobe Acrobat 4.0 or higher installed on your computer.

To pickup an article:

  • You will get e-mail via your Dowling e-mail account that the article is available.
  • It will include a PIN that you need to retrieve your article.
  • Go to the Ariel® ILL/Document Delivery page.
  • Log in with your Dowling e-mail address and the PIN from your e-mail to get your article. Please note that the PIN is case sensitive.

Getting Items at Brookhaven

When you fill out an Interlibrary Loan Request Form,
  • type a B in the "Pick up location" box to indicate you want to pick up the item in Brookhaven.
  • Materials usually arrive 24-hours after it is received at the Oakdale campus.
