Ask a Librarian Privacy Policy
Dowling College Library respects the privacy of our patrons. This policy is to let you know what type of information we collect and how it is used.
All chat session transcripts are saved to analyze the amount and types of questions that are being asked. This helps us to determine appropriate staffing, as well as new information to add to our help pages. If you would like to have the record of your chat session deleted, please contact Laura Pope Robbins and give her the date and exact start time of your chat session.
The information collected by the Library is only accessible to Librarians associated with the Ask a Librarian service and is not shared with anyone outside of Dowling College Library. Statistics generated from chat logs, as well as excerpts, may be used for reports or publications. However, information about specific individuals that may be included within a chat transcript will never be shared outside of the Library.
